Each person’s retirement is unique
WHAT WILL YOURS LOOK LIKE?
The journey starts here
Each of us shapes our own retirement, mixing together pieces that can include work, hobbies, study, travel, family, and volunteering.
Having so many options can seem a bit overwhelming, without a clear sense of personal direction to help us decide.
Let’s work together to chart your retirement path – one that will help you sort through your options and build a fulfilling retirement.
Are you making the most of your newfound 2,000 hours a year?
This stage of life puts a wealth of free time into our hands.
From the 9 to 5, it might look like the answer is to be permanently on vacation. For others, it can mean giving more to our current interests and commitments.
And some folks see a third option: focusing on the dreams, issues, and questions that matter deeply to us personally.
Your ideal retirement will likely be a unique combination of these approaches.
Planning ahead to retirement
It’s about more than putting away savings and packing for a well-deserved vacation
Sorting out your finances is crucial, and who doesn’t love planning a dream vacation?
But a well-rounded retirement plan also includes steps for:
- Understanding other important areas where you’ll want to be prepared
- Setting yourself up for a smooth transition from work
- Exploring your dreams or passion projects

A little about me
I’ve been successfully helping people through changes in their workplace for 35 years as a consultant. But for years, I got nervous when I thought about my own change to full retirement. I enjoyed the social and learning aspects of work so much.
But I started talking to friends and colleagues who were rocking their retirement. And I found out I didn’t have to give up the things I loved about work. In fact, those were handy signs pointing to some of the things I had to be sure I included in my plan for building a fulfilling retirement.
Like some retirees do, I decided to go for a second career. Working as a certified retirement coach gives me more control over my time and keeps me learning and connecting with other people. I get to help others move through this big life change and make the most out of all that’s possible on the other side.
Djuna (Joona) Penn
Certified Retirement Coach
Djuna is a fantastic coach/mentor. She is insightful, prepared, encouraging and a wonderful resource. I was at a pivotal place in my personal and professional life and benefited greatly from the time I spent with Djuna.
Djuna gave me tangible, practical technics that helped we navigate some difficult situations and choices. In addition she is a wonderful, caring, strong role-model.
Few things are as personal as retirement planning. While money is an important factor, Djuna took the time to get to know me and understand my needs and goals from the social and spiritual perspectives.
The end result was a customized plan and experience built around ME, today and into retirement. Thanks Djuna for truly understanding that my retirement isn’t a “cookie cutter” / cut and paste matter.
Djuna is patient, experienced, kind and understanding – everything you need in coach. I’ve had the fortune of working with Djuna twice. I’d highly recommend her if you’d like to see the change you need in your life, no matter how big or small.
I worked with Djuna on some important personal goals that I kept procrastinating. I knew that if I worked with her, I’d get started and would complete them.
